This is one of the nicest state parks in the state of Alabama. Named Cheaha for the Creek word chaha, meaning "high place" this mountain dominates the Talladega forest that surrounds it. The air is crisp and clean at these summit and there's a strange peacefulness that surrounds the area. Perhaps it was just the Cherokee in me at peace with nature, but it just feels like you're healing there.

Absolutely amazing park! My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary weekend to check off Alabama’s high point. The road up to the high point was closed when we arrived due to all of the snow they got the night before. I asked the park services manager if she could escort us up there so that we could just take a picture, and she agreed to let us ride up in her truck with her. She gave us a little tour of the park and even took a picture with us at the high point! It was so beautiful to see everything covered in snow. Would love to come back here and stay in one of the cabins. 10/10.

Absolutely beautiful! Good for a first time hiker depending on the trail. Intermediate challenge to extreme challenge for a backpacker depending on how much of the trail you take on. Amazing views at sunset.

Beautiful park. More trash than expected, people just don't clean up after themselves and it is impossible for the rangers to consonantly clean trails. Primitive campground was nice, but they need more than one vault toilet. Would also help to post a sign about lowering the lid to help with odors. Overall, great park. Will return.

With many hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult, a lodge, the restaurant, and great camping sites you'll have loads to do, and all for a decent price.

Beautiful area. Best views around! The highest point is occupied by a museum and cell phone tower, but there are plenty of other beautiful view points (not the little big foot trail though!) Semi-primitive camping was nice, the bathrooms were a bit rough. The picnic table, water spouts, and fire rings were nice. I would definitely recommend it!
